The Owners

We are a married couple who live in Wisconsin full-time and enjoy Mellow Yellow Butterfly a couple times a year - which is definitely NOT enough! We have the property professionally managed by ACME House Co. just to ensure there is someone local to take good care of our guests.

We have personal pride in owning such a special architectural home. We are constantly striving to elevate the details and make sure our guests will have a wonderful experience in our home.

Feel free to contact us directly with suggestions or compliments!

On the fun side, we have a wide assortment of games both indoor and out, including board games, card games and ping pong, ranging from checkers and Sorry to Cards Against Humanity. Outdoors we offer several pool floats for relaxing in the pool, croquet, in-pool paddle tennis, and a dog agility set for your four-legged friends. If you're not up for the action, we have a wonderful 2 person hammock and plenty of places to lounge with a good book and/or drink!

History

Our fun loving mid-century butterfly was built in 1961 by the Alexander Construction Company as part of the Racquet Club Road Estates - a unique tract of homes all designed by architects Dan Palmer & William Krisel. When we found this home it was love at first sight and the detailed story made for a 'meant to be' situation.

The home is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood street, and as soon as you pull up you can't help but smile and and be welcomed by the feel-good vibes our butterfly expresses. In our updates, we really focused on creating an oasis in the backyard although we added some conveniences inside as well to help really bring out the personality of Mellow Yellow Butterfly. While we did have some help on the interior design, we had a clear vision from the start and were instrumental in picking out all the pieces and how they would fit together. It is, after all, our home-away-from-home too!
